Mens Leather Belts And What You Should Know Before You Buy

Trousers, jeans, chinos and even smart shorts all look better with a belt. Somehow, empty belt loops just dont look right. So, adding a smart belt completes the image? Not for long

Todays modern belts are often made of different and usually man-made layers glued together. The technical term is bonded leather.

But it says real leather on the belt! Yes, some belts do have the words real leather (or the leather symbol) stamped on the inside. So that layer might well be real leather. But what about the other bits?

After a period of time, the other bits make their appearance. The glue that kept them together starts to fail. The belt splits into layers as body heat, tension and pressure do their work. Examine the pieces closely and you may find a thin layer of cloth or webbing, a strip of padding and maybe a vinyl top layer.

Shoes and other footwear have symbols to explain their construction a leather upper, man-made sole etc. Unfortunately, without this same information on a belt, when the words real leather are seen the assumption is that the whole thing is leather. The manufacturers of this type of poorly labelled belt are doing nothing to set the record straight. Shame on them.

So, apart from the passing off of a belt as all leather, shouldnt it be ok to wear?

Well, man-made materials should be long lasting, so how long do these belts last? A few months? A year? More? Well that depends on the use they get. Anecdotal evidence varies. Cost is not a factor either. Unless the belt is made of semi-precious metal or stones, its the brand that pushes the price right up, not the raw materials.

Where do they break? At the pressure points. Where the prong fits through the strap. Theres a lot of tension on that little metal stick and the belt area near it. The other main failure point is round the back where the belt pulls against the belt loops when the wearer sits down.

At some point some of these bonded belts are no longer the smart accessory as theyve begun to disintegrate. Maybe not all belts and maybe not all the time, but enough for those who know to be a bit more careful when they are buying their next belt.

So whats the alternative?

Solid leather. Rather than split, it will give. Being solid leather it cant break into layers, it stays in one piece. (Unless you let the dog chew on it). After years of wear, when it gets a bit tired, it can be relegated to second best and worn during diy jobs or when gardening or working on the car, rather than thrown in the bin. These long lasting belts are often handmade in tourist and craft areas and maybe expertly tooled with patterns or images (native American Indian craftwork, for example). An overly busy pattern might not be right for formal wear, so a plainer finish is probably more appropriate.

So how do you tell what a belt is made of?

At the buckle end of the belt, look for the cut edge. Examine the cross-section and it will be obvious. Multiple layers of different shades and thicknesses give the game away. If the cut edge has been sealed then again it is probably man-made.

Ultimately of course it is a matter of personal choice. Buy mens leather belts or buy bonded belts. Either will look great in the shop. Just take care to see what the belt is made of and think of the use the belt is going to be put to (infrequent or every day, formal or informal). Then make that informed decision.

Herb Garden Kits – A ”out Of The Box Simple Gardening Experience

I can remember at being very excited about a new project I was starting. At first I had already foreseen a long stimulating future at enjoying this hobby. I bought all what deemed to me as necessary to start digging in this new adventure. Unfortunately after a while I slowly varied my activities, the latter ending up occupying more and more of my time than my beloved pastime until I went on to new points of interest . A lot of the material is still in the garage, certain items still in their unopened packaging.

The same can be applied to gardening, especially if it is a new found interest or a lack of experience. It could be wise to begin this hobby with a miniature version and give you the opportunity to test how much you enjoy this activity and how well it may blend in your day-to-day routine.

Happily herb garden kits are a simple solution to get you up and running in a very short time and let you set the limits to how much time and efforts you are willing to devote yourself to this past time. Here are some instances when these ”kits” comes in handy.

Time
People are busy rushing from home to their jobs and everything in between. It is a great idea to cultivate herbs for whatever reason it is appealing to you and it is also fairly simple. How much time do you have to keep you herbs happy and healthy. Any herb that you plant has to be tended to, from beginning to end including harvesting. Does your time frame permit outdoor gardening or will it be more convenient and time saving if you choose the indoors gardening option?

Space
Another factor that can greatly influence your choice is space. City dwellers might not have a large space for gardening and are often limited to the confines of a small apartment, or perhaps outside temperatures would not be very friendly to the young plants. A small kit can be composed of a set of 3-4 plants of different herbs that can set on that sunny windowsill in the kitchen. You will find one plant of an herb is enough to fulfill the need. Know your herbs and how to tend to them because some plants can start spreading from a single sprout when out of control.

Commodity
Herb garden kits comes complete with everything you need except for the water and sunshine. Some kits might even contain grow lights that control photosynthesis. You can even get a kit with plants that grows submerged in water, this solution even eliminate the possibility of dirt spilling and creating a mess in your home.
All kits include step-by-step instructions on how to set-up everything, how to plant and care of the herbs, harvesting, characteristics of each individual plants and tips for best results.

Choice
Another pleasant aspect of buying a kit is that there is a tremendous amount of variation offered. You need to choose which category of herbs you plan on growing. Will the harvested leaves be used for culinary reason or, perhaps, you tend more towards medicinal herbs?

The quantity that you will need depends largely on the usage you are aiming for. Remember that with herbs 1 plant will go a long way.

Prices is also a factor but it should not be exclusive. Seed-based kits are less expensive than the sprout version but can be a bit more time consuming and even fragile. Also some herbs can be quite a challenge to a beginner when started from seeds.

Overall, available space and the time you can devote to its care are deciding factor for a kit that is best for you. A small kit containing 4-5 herbs that can grow on your windowsill and may require only simple occasional watering. A large kit offers all that you need to cultivate a 10×10 feet garden.

Take the time you need to plan your garden whatever the size, you will be happy that you did later. List the herbs that you wish to grow and visit a few places to compare prices and options that may suit you best. There is a herb garden kit waiting for you that thoroughly meet your need.

How To Get Rid Of Pack Rats

Arizona residents may have to contend with the occasional household pest. However, whether you live in one of the major urban centers, such as Phoenix or Scottsdale, or in the suburbs and rural parts of the Grand Canyon state, the uninvited guest can turn into a serious concern when your home falls prey to a pack rat problem.

If your home is being overrun by a pack rat problem in Arizona, read on to find out how to get rid of rats and eliminate the problem for good.

Pack Rat Arizona — Rodent Characteristics

Pack rats make their homes in Arizona out of preference for the desert climate. You can tell you have a pack rat problem on your hands if the rodent in question has a bushy tail, a white underbelly and brown or grey colored fur.

If you find tiny objects in strange places throughout your home, this could very well indicate a pack rat problem. The Arizona pack rat tends to scavenge, collecting small shiny objects for nesting grounds, and will typically exchange things for a great new find.

Get Rid of Pack Rats — Rat Trapping

Some homeowners prefer to try their hands at pack rat elimination before calling a rodent exterminator. Depending on the magnitude of your pack rat problem, you might think it feasible to get rid of rats on your own.

Among the most effective methods for pack rat elimination is trapping. There are numerous traps available on the market, including glue traps, snap traps and no kill traps.

When handling pack rat elimination on your own, you may discover that no kill traps are ineffective in eradicating a serious pack rat problem. Additionally, while glue traps are effective, many consider them inhumane.

Snap traps are a preferred way to get rid of rats. However, if you choose this method, purchase the right size traps. You’ll also need to keep the traps out of reach from your children and pets, so they don’t unknowingly step into them.

Depending on the situation, pack rat elimination on your own can be bothersome an unsuccessful. If your attempts have proven futile, call in a professional for removal and eliminate your pack rat problem for good.

Pack Rat Arizona — Prevention for Lasting Pack Rat Elimination

Following successful pack rat elimination from your home, you’ll need to adopt some preventative measures to get rid of rats once and for all. The pack rat in Arizona can squeeze through small spaces. Be sure to seal the entryways to your home.

Additionally, tightly seal food and waste in rat proof containers. Keep your yard free of debris, as twigs, compost, wood piles and refuse are a nesting haven for the Arizona pack rat. In addition to the aforementioned steps, regular gardening and lawn mowing will prevent a future pack rat problem.

When the Political Door Closes and the Prophetic Door Opens

Most of the trouble in our world takes place either when civil and ecclesiastical powers marry or merge or when civil power takes it upon itself to completely stop religion. Not all religion is legitimately pointing to the Creator God so it goes without saying that this statement does not include all religions in the most general sense of the word, but only those ordained by the Creator of mankind.

Biblical faith has its various divisions which all come together to present the full will and counsel of God to a fleeting and temporary world. There is history, law, moral and spiritual guidance, poetry, the all-important gospel message and finally about one third of the Bible is prophecy.

Pre, mid and post exilic, Messianic and pre-millennial prophecies are divisions within the general prophecies of the bible.

All prophecy culminates or quite simply comes to a head at the full revelation of the part of prophecy aforementioned and well known as -pre-millennial prophecy.- As the term implies this is when all prophecy converges in a single period of time or a single generation and it is just before the promised millennial (1,000 years) rule of Christ upon the earth.

It is when Christ returns that all government on a worldwide scale – shifts hands overnight. All the nations and every aspect of world governance are placed in the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ at the blowing of the seventh trumpet of God.

-And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.- (Rev 11: 15)

Great judgments, calamities and destruction takes place prior to Christ taking full authority over the earth, but they are the long awaited retribution for the centuries of man’s rebellion. They are not hapless and uncontrolled anger coming from God – they are promised judgments against the collective sins of mankind. They are not designed or executed simply or solely to wreak havoc or produce fear.

The full disclosure of prophecy is given to remove fear not create it, in fact, the first fear eradicated is the presumption that evil will go un-punished – it is the great pay day for mankind and everyone will step up to the pay table whether they like it or not.

Prophecy also removes the fear of accidental destruction of the earth by natural or manmade forces. Here is a short list of things men fear could be the end of our world. While some of these may touch this world it is only in the most limited sense of the word – they will not result in the end of this world.

Pandemic diseases Asteroids Nuclear warfare Global warming Extraterrestrial intervention Explosions on the sun Your guess is as good as mine

Prophecy does not mince words, wickedness, mis-rule and wholesale perversion will all be severely dealt with, but the world is not consumed because God is not finished with this world. Many things are destroyed not only for judgment sake, but God has no use for the corrupted things of man. The cities (all of them) all fall together (Rev 16: 19) and there will be topographical changes across the globe, but the earth remains quite intact.

The Bible declares the future, the fate and the finish of man, but never the total destruction of the earth or of mankind. God it is said, is not the author of confusion, (1Cor 14: 33) but he is the Master of consummation, that means he brings his plan to full fruition which is the redemption of those who pass through the temporary with enough savvy to see the eternal.

This world is a battlefield not a playground (Eph 6: 12) and it is a great field of trial. It is the testing and proving ground for the souls of men and while it has its day to end, it does not end by accident – it ends only by design.

There is a marvelous lagniappe attached to all the promises of prophecy. When this earth is slated for its final day (2Pet 3: 10) all is not lost. God has no intention of leaving things suspended and beginning some indescribable fifth dimensional spiritual soup for the souls of men.

God provides a new heaven and a new earth. There will be no seas on the new earth (Rev 21: 1) and it is generally thought to be hundreds if not thousands of time larger than the present earth. There is no need for the sun, moon or stars because God himself is the light of that planet.

Finally, while there may be cities or centers of population there, only one major city will be there and it is called -The New Jerusalem.- This city expands across a distance more than one half of the United States in all directions – it is the city of the redeemed.

-Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.- (Rev 3: 12)

The politics of today will be thoroughly replaced by the monarchy of tomorrow and what a blessed day that will be.

How Beautiful Can Your Outdoor Space Be

How Beautiful Can Your Outdoor Space Be?

The answer to the question of How Beautiful Can Your Outdoor Space Be is only constrained by your imagination. Putting aside your budget for a minute, think of how you would really love your garden to look. It doesn’t matter how large or small your garden is, if you have any outdoor space there are many ways to utilise it so that you can get enjoyment from it for most of the year. Of course, if you are lucky enough to live somewhere with the right climate then there is no reason that you cannot be enjoying your garden all year round.

You will need to give some thought to what you actually want to use your garden for. Do you want somewhere to relax, to entertain, does it need to be family friendly. You might want lots of vibrant colours or even prefer to mix flowers and vegetables. Would you prefer raised beds so that you don’t need to bend over when you are weeding. Do you need wider pathways for wheelchair access. No two people have exactly the same needs, and no necessities should preclude something from looking good.

Some things that you might want to consider are a decking or patio area. Then do you want this area to be open or enclosed. How about a pergola or arbour over part of it. This could give you a nice shady area to escape the full glare of the summer sun. Then of course you could have a barbecue or outdoor kitchen at the edge of this area. Wouldn’t it be great to eat outside when the weather is good, even better if you can cook outside as well. You might want to fence this area off. Do you go for timber, brick or stone. Keep it muted, natural colours or paint it something vibrant and vivid.

Another consideration is outdoor lighting. If the weather is nice then you want to be outside as often as possible. Use the right lighting and you can stay outside as late as you like. Things to think about apart from general mood lighting are do you have any features in the garden that would be enhanced with lighting. This could really raise your outdoor space another level.

What about heating when it is a bit cooler. Would a fire pit look good in your garden. Could you take advantage of hard landscaping and get a stone wall and patio area to soak up the sun during the day, then this will slowly release the heat later on when you want to sit outside.

Have you thought of outside furnishing. What colours and styles do you like. How durable does it need to be. Are you going to leave the furniture outside or will you be putting it under cover when not in use.

That’s an awful lot to be thinking about, then of course you will still need to consider your budget. Are you the sort of person who has not only the imagination to picture all of this, but also the ability to bring it all together within your specific budget. If so, then get planning and go for it. Get it done and start enjoying your new beautiful outside space.

On the other hand, if you are not sure how to get started (or you just don’t have the time) then you don’t need to give up. You can always hire the services of a Garden Designer. If you use a local firm, then they will know what your local growing conditions are like. They can advise you after listening to what you want as to what your best options are. Do you want the best person to plan and build your ideal outdoor space. If so, then talk to your local Auckland garden designer Pasley Park Landscape Co:- http://www.park.co.nz/ .
